According to latest figures, the number of people aged 100 and above in the UK has increased twofold from 8,300 in 2004 to 16,600 in 2024.

From 2004 and 2024, the number of male centenarians has increased threefold from 910 to 3,100. Over the same timeframe, the count of women aged 100 or over almost doubled from 7,400 to 13,600.

We are eager to receive stories from centenarians, their family or companions, about what it has been like to bear witness to the past century’s major happenings and shifts.
