Skydance Paramount Will Remove Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – News

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to start significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, removing about 2,000 positions in the United States under a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August worth $8.4bn.

More international job cuts are anticipated, as the firm planning to reveal complete information during its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Prior news suggested that Paramount planned to reduce between 2,000 and 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, the company had almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 contract workers.

Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
